Advanced ECU Feature Platform by Chaos Calibrations

ChaosROM is our advanced ECU feature platform, our custom code developed for the factory ECUs. Finally bringing you launch control, new rev limiters, on the fly map switching, flex fuel and more, all to the factory ECU.

Traditional "tuning" can gives us a tremendous amount of control through the strategies already within the ECU. Custom code allows us to go further—adding functionality, expanding existing capabilities, and creating new control strategies where the original logic reaches its limits, or, never even existed in the first place. ChaosROM will bring motorsport level features, improved and expanded logic, custom maps and controls, the list goes on; all while keeping the original factory ECU!

ChaosROM has been under development since 2025, and we're only now beginning to share some of the exciting things we have been doing!

ChaosROM won't just be small pieces of custom code, rather, a full platform ecosystem that will expand across a variety of ECUs we support.

It will first launch on the BMW N51, N52 and S65 platforms and continue to expand after release.

ChaosROM isn't intended to replace the strengths of the factory ECU. ChaosROM is here to expand its capability all while retaining the OEM systems, integration, diagnostics, and appropriate engine safeties.

You'll no longer need to go to a standalone ECU or install piggyback modules to get the features and control your build needs and the ones you love!

More Than ChaosROM

ChaosROM development also goes hand-in-hand with continued improvements to the rest of the Chaos Calibrations ecosystem.

CCFlash currently supports Windows and Android, and we plan to continue developing those applications while expanding into macOS and iOS.

Our goal is to continue bringing flashing, datalogging, configuration, calibration, and ChaosROM functionality together into an increasingly convenient experience for the vehicles we support.

What's Next

While we have some features already ready to go, ChaosROM is still growing.

We have more features currently being developed, existing strategies we want to continue refining, and plenty of ideas for what comes next. We want to make sure we can bring our improved ecosystem and new platform with a nice feature set for everyone to enjoy!

We're excited to finally start sharing more of what we've been working on as we have been hard at work for a long time.

Chaos Calibrations has always focused on a relatively tight niche of vehicles and ECU platforms.

These are platforms we enjoy working with, have spent years learning and mastering, and genuinely care about supporting well. From daily-driven street cars to heavily modified and dedicated track builds, our focus has remained on providing thoughtful, vehicle-specific calibrations with a high level of customization and attention to detail.

Over time, that work has naturally expanded beyond calibration alone.

In 2023, we began rolling out the CCFlash ecosystem across Windows and Android, giving us our own platform for flashing, datalogging, and continued software development. This extended more convenience to our customers!

Now we're introducing the next part of that evolution, ChaosROM.
